Termidor Termite Treatment in Middle Georgia

Termidor is the most widely used professional termite treatment in the United States, applied to more than four million homes and proven in field studies to deliver 100% termite control. National Exterminating uses Termidor as a primary treatment option for Middle Georgia properties facing active termite infestations or elevated structural risk, and our technicians are certified in its proper application.

How Termidor Works

Termidor’s effectiveness comes from a combination of two properties that most termiticides do not share: it is completely undetectable to termites, and it spreads through a colony by contact rather than killing on touch alone.

settings
  • Application

National Exterminating’s certified technicians apply Termidor as a liquid treatment along the base of your home’s foundation walls and around the exterior perimeter. In most cases, this involves trenching along the foundation to ensure the product reaches the soil zone where subterranean termites forage. The treatment zone is continuous, with no gaps for termites to detect and route around. Termidor takes effect immediately after application.

  • Binding

Once applied, Termidor binds with the soil and remains in place at effective concentrations for years. Termites cannot detect it by taste, smell, or sight, which means they have no reason to avoid treated areas and continue foraging through the treated zone as if it were untreated soil.

  • Ingestion and Contact

As termites move through the treated soil, they ingest Termidor or absorb it through contact with their bodies. At this stage they become unknowing carriers of the active ingredient, fipronil, without any change in their behavior.

  • The Transfer Effect

This is what separates Termidor from conventional contact-kill termiticides. Termites that have been exposed to Termidor spread it to every other termite they encounter through the normal social contact that happens constantly inside a colony: grooming, feeding, and movement through shared tunnels. Each exposed termite becomes a carrier, passing the treatment further into the colony with every interaction. The result is colony-wide elimination rather than the reduction of individual foragers.

Field studies have demonstrated 100% termite control for at least 10 years following Termidor application, with some results extending to 15 years.

Why Termidor Works Well in Middle Georgia

Middle Georgia’s combination of warm temperatures, persistent humidity, and clay-heavy soils creates near-ideal conditions for subterranean termite activity. These same soil conditions also make Termidor particularly effective here, as the product binds well with clay-based soil and maintains its concentration across the treated zone over time.

Termidor is National Exterminating’s preferred option when a property shows active termite infestation, when structural risk is elevated due to wood-to-soil contact or a history of swarm activity, or when a faster-acting solution is needed than a baiting system can provide. Slab-on-grade foundations, multifamily structures, and properties where routine exterior access for bait station monitoring is limited are all situations where Termidor’s barrier approach is often the stronger choice.

How National Exterminating Applies Termidor

Correct application is as important as the product itself. Termidor applied without proper trenching, at incorrect concentrations, or with gaps in the treatment zone will not deliver the full protection the product is capable of providing. That is one of the core reasons why Termidor is only available through certified pest control professionals.

National Exterminating’s certified technicians conduct a full perimeter inspection before any treatment begins, identifying critical access points, soil conditions, and any structural features that require special attention during application. Trenching is performed along the entire foundation perimeter to create a continuous treatment zone without breaks. Slab penetrations and other entry points are treated as part of the same application process.

After treatment, we recommend routine service checks to verify that the Termidor barrier remains intact and that no new termite activity has developed at the perimeter. These visits are included as part of your termite service agreement, along with a 15-year repair-and-retreat warranty valid for as long as your agreement remains active.

In rare cases, access issues or other site-specific conditions prevent a complete as-directed Termidor application. In those cases, National Exterminating may offer a retreat-only warranty in place of a repair-and-retreat warranty.
