Distribution:	Throughout most of U.S., but common only in southern half.
Swarming:	Early to mid-summer.
Nests:	Soil in open sunny places. Cone shaped.
Food:	Carnivorous and predacious, feeding n other ants and insects. Attend aphids for honeydew. Prefers sweets.
Comments	Colonies small to moderate in size. Worders forage in conspicuouis file and invade houses from outside.
